Due to the proliferation of broadband Internet access around the world, video conferencing has grown as a new means of communicating, enabling people to see eye-to-eye without leaving the office. In 2005, video conferencing sales reached $500 million.
The video conferencing industry anticipates $8 billion in sales by 2008, opening up opportunities for companies like SightSpeed Inc. "Why travel when you don't have to?" says SightSpeed CEO Peter Csathy. "Greater accessibility and affordability of broadband internet and Web cams have contributed to the video conferencing trend making it a mainstream means to communicate just like e-mail and cell phones. Now anyone can do business face-to-face from anywhere, at anytime, with these tools." HBM
