The Psychologically Toxic Office Space

Stress is so severe in the American workforce that it is causing a potential health risk, reveals a recent study conducted by workplace psychologist, Dr. David Lewis, in conjunction with Pendaflex (www.Pendaflex.com), a leading provider of filing and organizational products.

In the initial months of 2006, this has never been so evident. Office workers outside the home are working harder than ever to make numbers, achieve bonuses, and score high on performance reviews. Below are some alarming findings from the study:

·    48 percent of Americans report high stress.

·    52 percent say they have an overly heavy workload.

·    49 percent work late at least 2 to 3 times a week.

·    43 percent are disorganized.

·    37 percent claim to have an unreasonable boss.

·    21percent have missed crucial work deadlines.
