One Out of Two Working Adults Participate

The $1 trillion home business sector continued to grow in size and scope. According to the Small Business Administration, home-based businesses account for more than half of all businesses in the United States. Major groups that make up the booming work-from-home sector include:

·        Part-Time Entrepreneurs: Launching a part-time home business is an excellent way to supplement one’s existing income or test out a new business concept.

·        Full-Time Home Business Owners: Many small businesses operate full-time from home, thereby saving thousands of dollars in annual overhead expenses and time wasted in daily commutes.

·        Telecommuters: A large percentage of home-based workers are employed by companies that have initiated telecommuting programs. Done effectively, telecommuting can decrease a company’s costs while increasing worker productivity.

·        Home Office Workers: Other members of the home-based workforce include employees who work from home after hours. These employees enjoy being able to escape from the office if their jobs require them to work late in the evenings or on weekends. HBM
