Is Small Business Snoozing Through the Government Loan Alarm Clock?

Survey Shows that 77 Percent of Respondents Have Not Pursued New Loans Available

A new survey of 993 small business owners across the United States by management consulting firm George S. May International found 77 percent have not taken advantage of the deferred-payment loan of up to $35,000 for businesses, as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

In fact, 58 percent of the respondents were not even aware that these loans were made available since September under the U.S. Small Business Administration’s America Recovery Capital (ARC) Loan Program. “Small business owners are sleeping at the wheel,” said Paul Rauseo, managing director. “The fact that such a large number of business owners don’t even know these loans are available is mind-boggling.” HBM
