CEO Focuses Her Mission on Business and Marketing Planning
In March of 2003, Erin Baldwin, founder and CEO of The Baldwin Companies, was told by her employer that she had hit the salary ceiling. As a single mom of an eleven year-old boy, that “maxed out” salary could not even qualify her for a home loan in Orange County, California. Wanting a better life for herself and her son, she took matters into her own hands, quit her job, and advised her son, “It’s going to be peanut butter and jelly for a while, bud,” to which he replied, “Cool!”
With her son on board, she launched Baldwin Business Consulting with $1,000 in savings on a tiny desk with an antiquated computer in the corner of her bedroom. Ms. Baldwin created a list of the skills she had acquired over 22 years in corporate America and chose the four that represented projects she could offer to businesses on an outsourcing basis. These projects were business and marketing planning, office organizational systems, corporate relocations and corporate event planning. Baldwin Business Consulting quickly gained a reputation for consistently providing high-quality and timely assistance to businesses spanning brand new start-ups through large national companies. Due to a horrible real estate experience, she founded Delegate-Online, a business that helps consumers connect with professionals to ask questions to help them out of their own dilemmas.
On January 1, 2007, after enjoying considerable success with Baldwin Business Consulting and Delegate-Online, Ms. Baldwin made a decision to re-focus her business mission on strictly business and marketing planning. The Baldwin Companies was formed to offer the innovative 4-Step Business Building System™. The goal of this system is to eliminate financial and growth obstacles commonly placed in front of start-up, small and medium-sized businesses.
Ms. Baldwin’s experience includes working on teams raising capital and improving operations for companies via initial public offerings, mergers, acquisitions, and private placement offerings both domestically and internationally. Ms. Baldwin still operates out of her home office in Laguna Hills, California with 3 part-time employees.
