The Fall of Telecom — The Rise of Frozen Drinks
By Home Business Magazine
After watching millions in stock options dwindle to little after the telecom bubble burst, Robert Dammeyer chose to not only take control of his destiny, but to enable like-minded entrepreneurs to grab a hold of theirs.
Tired of the corporate rat race and ready for a change, Robert and his wife, Catherine (also a former corporate executive), were seeking a more rewarding endeavor and high-quality, fun products, when they came across a line of premium frozen and specialty drinks. The Dammeyers founded Culpepper Sales, LLC in 2003 to own, market, and support the Swirl brand.
Robert and Cathy, aware of the implications of childhood obesity, knew the mixes were perfect for schools looking to replace calorie-laden sodas. Already doing brisk business with schools, they knew they could increase this by formulating 50 and 100 percent juice mixes fortified with calcium and vitamins A, C and D.
Deep concern with the nutritional value of the juices didn’t stop there for Robert and Catherine. One product they market, SwirLite, is a low-carb, no-added-sugar beverage which is 50 percent real juice and sweetened with sucralose, created with the weight conscious and diabetic consumers in mind.
"Many times, this could be the most nutritious item that some children or adults have in a given day," says Bob. Swirl products are found in schools, entertainment venues, assisted living locations, zoos, children's camps and a wide variety of other locations.
Quality is the foundation of everything the Dammeyer’s do in their business. “We share a passion for improving our products and service plus creating a pleasant and profitable experience for our customers and their customers. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve the industry and provide a healthy alternative that puts a smile on your face!”
